Ad Hoc - Short Film Screening in Akureyri
Ad Hoc started as an initiative of four exchange students at the University of Akureyri: Iris, Paulina, Lila and Salomé. The idea is simple: share our passion for cinema with everyone by offering a screening of short films specially selected for the occasion.
"After long and passionate deliberations we selected seven movies from different countries and all directed by women. This is crucial for us. As women, feminists and activists, we want this screening to be an opportunity to highlight the work of women from around the world."
The aim of this screening is to explore the manifestation of the female gaze - women's perspective and their form of expression. We collected a distinctive and comprehensive selection that includes animations as well as narrative fi lms. All of them raise crucial topics in a visually appealing way.
Movies contain intimate stories fromdiff erent cultures with their unique perspective.
The event will take place in the University of Akureyri in room M102 on the 13th of April 2023, from 5 to 7 pm. It will consist of a 90’ screening followed by a discussion.
Entrance is free and everyone is welcome.
