Psychology addresses some of the most fascinating and important questions in science, from perception, learning, and decision-making to human development, social relationships, mental health, and brain-behavior processes. Through a wide range of approaches and methods, psychology seeks to understand how people think, feel, and behave across different contexts and stages of life.
We live in a time of rapid social, technological, and environmental change, creating new psychological (and social) challenges for individuals and communities. At our Faculty, we engage directly with these challenges by integrating emerging research, methods, and perspectives into both our teaching and scientific work.
Our teaching and research span key areas of psychology, including social, cognitive, developmental, clinical, neuropsychological, and sport psychology. Across these areas, we share a common aim to understand how, when, and why people think, feel, and behave the way they do.
Our programs are designed to be accessible to students across Iceland, with on-campus sessions in Akureyri. Whether your goal is research, practice, or a deeper scientific understanding of people, we welcome you.
