Arctic Circle 2026 preparation workshop
Building an Arctic Community at UNAK

Iceland’s Centre for Arctic Issues hosted an Arctic Circle Assembly Proposal Writing Workshop on Thursday, January 15, bringing together students and staff for an engaging twohour session focused on discussing possible session ideas and strengthening proposal development skills.

Nearly 30 participants attended the workshop, where diverse Arctic themes were introduced across academic fields at UNAK. Attendees worked collaboratively in groups, explored interdisciplinary perspectives, and presented their ideas at the end of the session. Organizers and participants succeeded in creating a supportive environment in which participants could engage in discussions, exchange ideas, and build confidence in developing engaging session proposals.

The Centre for Arctic Issues will continue to support prospective contributors by offering mentorship to help refine and develop their proposals.
