The project, Nordic Space Infrastructures - Environment, Security, and Future Imaginaries of Outer Space in the High North or NordSpace for short, will investigate the relationship between space activities and environmental and security policies in the Arctic and their societal impact in Norway, Sweden, and Iceland.
This three-year project is led by Katharina Glaab at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). The Icelandic case study will be led by Adam Fishwick, visiting professor at UNAK, who will be collaborating with researchers from NMBU and the University of Oslo in Norway, Roskilde University in Denmark, and Stockholm University and the Swedish Defense Research Agency in Sweden.
The project launch and kick-off meetings will be held in Akureyri later in autumn 2023.
