WELCOME TO OPEN SEMINAR!

Professor Maurizio Atzeni will introduce Chile and Argentina's history, economy, and society, discussing some of the unexpected overlaps and comparisons with Iceland. It will focus on issues such as higher education, the welfare state, and changing labour markets. As well as an introduction to Chile and Argentina, it will provide an opportunity to discuss potential collaborations and other opportunities for academic staff and students with the two countries.

Maurizio Atzeni is Professor in the Faculty of Business at Universidad Alberto Hurtado in Chile and Researcher CEIL-CONICET in Argentina. He is a leading international expert of labour and work in the global political economy, publishing widely on theories of class and labour organising, on trade unions in South America, and, most recently, on work and workers in the digital economy.
