Definitions

Impact points: The share of research points awarded for peer-reviewed academic publications that meet the rigorous quality standards of peer-reviewed scholarly journals.

Full-time equivalent (FTE): A measure of workload equivalent to one full-time position for one year.

Publications: Books, book chapters and articles in Icelandic and international journals authored by academic staff at the University of Akureyri. Publications are counted according to authorship by University staff. If two University of Akureyri staff members co-author the same article, it therefore counts as two publications in these figures.

Research points: Points awarded to academic staff for research activity under the evaluation system used by Iceland's public universities. Academic output is reported annually and evaluated according to the system, with the combined points making up the University's total research points.
