The University of Akureyri continues to strengthen its leading role in innovation, entrepreneurship, the creative industries, sustainability, and research collaboration in the Arctic.
Dr. Kjartan Sigurðsson, Assistant Professor and researcher at the University of Akureyri, has been selected to chair a session at the UArctic Conference 2026, which will be held in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands.
He will lead the session titled Harnessing Arctic Art for Sustainable Creative Ventures, where scholars, educators, and entrepreneurs will discuss how creative energy—through innovation and entrepreneurship—can drive sustainability and regional development in the Arctic.
The call for abstracts is now open. All those interested in UArctic topics are encouraged to consider whether their work might fit within this session or the conference as a whole.
