New President at Faculty of Business Administration

Sigurður has held the position of adjunct and later assistant professor at Faculty of Business Administration at UNAK since 2021, where he has taught leadership, management, human resources and negotiations.

He also owns the company Forysta og samskipti (Leadership and communications), which offers management and leadership training, and he also hosts a podcast under the same name on the UNAK’s podcast channel. Sigurður has also taught at most universities in Iceland, including the University of Iceland and the University of Reykjavík. He was previously head of Faculty of Business at Bifröst University and a substitute for the rector.

Sigurður has also worked as a managing director in several companies, including the website Vísir.is. He started his career in the media, especially radio. He worked in Bylgjan, Rás 2, FM957 and Stjarnan, among others.

Sigurður graduated with an MBA in management and marketing from Golden Gate University in the United States. He then completed his doctorate in business administration at University of Iceland, where he studied the practice of servant leadership in American companies.
