The FærÍska Conference will take place at the University of Akureyri from 6 to 8 October
The Færíska conference will take place at the university of akureyri from 6 to 8 october 2026!
The aim of the conference is threefold:
- To create a platform for the dissemination of Icelandic and Faroese research in the fields of biology, biotechnology, fisheries and related sciences
- To strengthen cooperation between Iceland and the Faroe Islands in the fields of education, research and innovation, with special emphasis on Arctic issues, sustainable resource use and health
- To strengthen cultural and social ties between Icelandic and Faroese institutions and companies
The conference is intended as a platform for academics, university students and industry experts to share knowledge, experiences and build collaborative networks between the two countries, thus supporting ongoing research collaboration, project development and student exchanges.
Call for Abstracts
the call for abstracts will remain open until August 1, 2026
Submitted abstracts will be categorized into the following sessions:
- The circular economy: waste management, recycling and reprocessing in the north
- Health in the north: health solutions and drug development
- Environmental changes in the north: land conservation, biodiversity and the human-environmental interaction
- Food production on land and sea: best practices, innovation, and quality control
- Education for sustainability in small communities: challenges and solutions
